Don’t Be An Addict
Nothing in this life is worth being addicted to. Avoid addiction in any form. I am working on my addiction. Work on yours too.
1_ Don’t be addicted to alcohol, even if you head a brewery.
2_ Don’t be addicted to sex, even if it’s with your wife.
3_ Don’t be addicted to cigarette, even if you are the MD of St. Moritz.
4_ Don’t be addicted to food, even if you are the founder of Mr Biggs.
5_ Don’t be addicted to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram etc, even if you have 50,000GB on your phone.
6_ Don’t be addicted to your business/work, you may later have cause to regret it in life.
7_ Don’t be addicted to reading, I have read about a scholar who died as a result of addiction to reading.
8_ Don’t be addicted to TV and radio sets, it may damage your home.
8_ Don’t be addicted to football, it may have serious implications on your finances and health.
9_ Don’t be addicted to spirituality, it may affect your economic life and relationship with people of other religions.
Addiction derails. Addiction destroys. Addiction kills. Avoid addiction.
There is only one thing Trump can do that will cost him the real support of GOP leadership: fuck up the market. So maybe the current instability will have a perk, but it will have to get worse before it gets better.
“You will hear whispers about publishing projects where the company is rumored to have paid considerable sums of money for a book and then a call will come in from a reporter asking questions about said project and you will immediately route it to the director. The director has experience answering questions about the amount of money the company overpaid (5 million, 10 million, 20 million) and why the book is worth that much (it’s not) and how many copies will it take to earn out (it won’t).”

I had been thinking about this before the Sherman Alexie reveal, but now still, and not at all in his honor, I’m looking for recommendations of books by Native American and First Nations authors, mostly fiction. I love Louise Erdrich but my knowledge pretty much ends with her.
The class society is growing around us with multi-million dollar mansions on the hills and trailer parks in the floodplains, in Montana. In the cities, it’s gated communities and ghettos. Deep poverty shows with the homeless. And then there are structured levels of "almost destitute" and "very low on the rung" and diverging demographics, as with elderly on meager entitlements. Yes, the rich are growing "filthy rich" and the gap is broadening with a new president as a model of a white privileged class and a Congress into the "token down". And there is disparity everywhere; in health care, in education, in housing, in all human services. Meanwhile, our resources are diminishing. Our climate is becoming threatening to life. What open-space public amenities are left are getting crowded and it is accepted that our government leaders have their own parks and golf courses, have their own yachts and airplanes, and abide on private estates (sometimes more than one). Traditional lantern lantern is one of the unique products of Hoi An – World Cultural Heritage.
In the trade relationship with Vietnam in the 16th – 17th centuries, many merchants from China, Japan, the Netherlands and India have contributed to create a unique culture of Hoi An trading port. Originally created for the purpose of serving the needs of life, lanterns gradually became sophisticated through the hands of skilled artists and its art.
Hoi An lanterns – The old town’s performance
Lanterns-2 Lantern is also a very unique feature of Hoi An. The beauty of Hoi An is now being used to create colorful brightly-colored lanterns that make the city’s nightlife shine brighter. The custom of lighting on the full moon nights of the past three centuries, but still preserved to this day. In the evening, along the banks of the Hoai River, young people and visitors drunk with pictures of lanterns shimmering colorful.
Sister Jolyane, a Canadian visitor, gazed at the sparkling lanterns, swinging in the wind. This visitor admired the lanterns at the Old Town along the Hoai River. This is the first time she has come to Hoi An. She drank about the trip in quiet space, strolling on the street lanterns and dreaming sitting on the boat watching the Hoai River sparkling lanterns in the moonlit night. "Maybe I’ll be back in town again," Jolyane said.

People often say: I don’t know how you do it?!? Well, taking care of ME is not an option. It’s not about how I look, or losing weight. It’s about investing time for myself in a world where I invest so much in others. It’s about taking care of my body, mind, and soul. It’s about taking care of myself so that I can give my kids the best me. It’s about showing my kids a healthy balance in life. It’s about the fun times we can have together at home and outside the home. It’s so much more than what an outsider looking in sees. It’s a feeling that is difficult to put into words but must be experienced. That feeling is what I want to gift all women, all moms. A feeling of happiness, health, confidence, energy, and so much more. ❤️ Bealls Florida is a department store where you can shop almost everything for your home.
